Liberty Fabrics

I was introduced to the Liberty London department store and its art fabrics when I was a teenager living in England. Established by Sir Arthur Lasenby Liberty in 1875, the company now has an archive of 45,00 prints and they continue to create and collaborate with other brands in a variety of industries. Though I favor their art nouveau prints, their aesthetic is so distinctive that I can recognize one of their florals at a glance. Their partnerships have spanned from Vans to TOMS and S'well to Anthropologie. As the landscape of brick and mortar stores is changing, innovating to reach new audiences is the surest way for a heritage brand to remain relevant.
